Breathe, Bark and Predict Seizures
Event schedule details

Be A Scientist Zone
Flowers Building, Imperial College London
If a dog can predict an oncoming seizure, could humans do it too?
Help us uncover the science behind how specially trained seizure alert dogs can detect and alert people to oncoming seizures. What exactly are these animals detecting and could we detect it too? Scientists from Imperial College London and University College London are studying breath and sweat samples to explore new non-invasive ways of predicting seizure onset and improving the diagnosis of epilepsy.
Dive into science by collecting your own breath and learn how the study of breath can help us better understand epilepsy. Get creative by designing your own seizure-sensing wearable through jewellery-making or drawing. Share your ideas and creations with researchers and help inspire future technologies that could support people with epilepsy.
