Join us out in the open air for a hands-on cosmic art experience that turns complex astrophysics into vibrant, collaborative chalk drawings.

Throughout the day, families with children of all ages can drop in to create galaxies, stars and even their own imagined black holes, guided by staff to inspire space-themed creativity.

Alongside this open activity, scheduled group workshops will invite up to ten participants at a time to help construct a large-scale supermassive black hole on the ground. Using chalk, string, and simple movement, each group will draw the major elements of a black hole, including the event horizon, photon ring, accretion disk and gravitational lens distortions in a dynamic burst of light and motion.

These 15-20 minute sessions run four times each day starting at 13.00, 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00 across the weekend, and best suited for ages 8+.

This interactive experience is led by artist and facilitator Lily Hibberd.
