Discover French and German language and culture with the French Institute and Goethe-Institut through fun activities mixing arts and crafts, storytelling and poetry.

Did you know that the first photograph was taken about 200 years ago by French engineer Nicéphore Niépce? Experiment with cyanotype printing or take pictures with French inspired props. Write a poem in French or English and add it to an “arbre à poêmes” (a “poem tree”) taking inspiration from the language of Shakespeare. You can also play a French escape game, enjoy tales from France and have a chat about all things French!

Join the Goethe-Institut to write love letters in German inspired by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Did you know that Victoria and Albert spoke German almost all the time with each other and with their children? They wrote about their love in numerous letters and diary entries. Write your own love letter, while learning some German words and phrases at the same time.

No prior French or German language skills required.
