Designing for a Greener Future
Event schedule details
Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June
12.00–18.00
Event location details
Imperial College Road
Build, experiment and get curious with Science Owl's hands-on activities designed for children and families keen to explore how the world works, and how we can better take care of it.
Design and build your own rubber band powered race car using everyday household materials, then test it on our race track! How will your design perform against others and our motorised model? Experiment, problem solve, and see how small design changes can make a big difference.
Through these creativie, simple experiments and a bit of inventing, you’ll get stuck into real environmental challenges in ways that feel playful and practical. Expect making, testing, building… and lots of questions.
Afterwards join our Broken Umbrella Challenge workshops, where you take apart broken toys and household items to invent something completely new! By reimagining objects that might otherwise be thrown away, you can explore ideas around waste, reuse and circular design in a creative way. Contribute to our collaborative artwork made from broken umbrella fabric, whilst sharing your idea for a more circular future.
Drop in, get involved, and see what you can create!
