Did you know your pet has an environmental pawprint?

We love our animals and want to do the best for them, but some of the things we do have wider impacts on the planet. For example, treatments for fleas and ticks can spread around the home or have toxic effects on wildlife if they get into ponds or rivers.

Work with scientists to test water samples and find out how we can best protect our pets and what alternatives there are. Meet vets, ecologists and water experts from Imperial College London’s Producing Rational Evidence for Parasiticide Prescription Team to find out more about how the owners of Britain’s 22 million dogs and cats can minimise their furry friends’ eco and climate pawprints.

Make dragonflies, mayflies and bees from upcycled materials, and take one home, while creating another for our wildlife collage! Younger children can “find the flea” on fluffy toys, while older kids and adults can look under microscopes at fleas and ticks.
