German Taster Session for Young Learners

This German taster session offers children and young learners a fun and accessible introduction to the German language during the Great Exhibition Road Festival.

Led by an experienced Goethe-Institut teacher, the session introduces simple German words and phrases through games, movement and interactive activities designed especially for young learners. The focus is on enjoyment and participation, encouraging curiosity and confidence when encountering a new language.

The session provides a glimpse into how German lessons for children work at the Goethe-Institut and highlight the importance of playful learning and communication. No prior knowledge of German is required, making the session ideal for visitors who want to try something new in a relaxed setting.

Visitor information

This is a drop-in event that is best suited for children and young people age 8-16. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The event is in the Goethe-Institut Library, which has a ramp for wheelchair users and accessible toilets that can be reached by a lift.
