Quantum Tech of the Future
Event schedule details
Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June
12.00–18.00
Event location details
Tech Zone
Sir Alexander Fleming Building, Imperial College London
Step inside the strange and spectacular world of quantum science to discover technologies shaping our future.
Quantum physics explores the rules of reality at its smallest scales—where particles can exist in multiple states at once, and time, motion and gravity behave in surprising ways. In this unique, sensory space, immersive art meets cutting-edge research to bring the quantum world, and the innovation potential it represents, to life.
Explore interactive installations that invite you to feel quantum effects through movement, light and sound, while meeting Imperial College London researchers using lasers and ultra cold atoms to build revolutionary technologies. See a quantum clock in action, discover how atom traps underpin future quantum computers and navigation systems, and learn how quantum imaging could transform cancer diagnostics.
End your journey in Quantum Reflections—a calm, meditative space designed with a group of local young people in collaboration with Imperial's quantum community—where you can pause, reflect and share how quantum technologies make you feel, and consider what kind of quantum future you want to see.
