Antimicrobial resistance is a hidden global health crisis that has been growing since the first day of Alexander Fleming’s discovery of penicillin in 1928.

Penicillin and other antibiotics transformed medicine as we knew it, with more people surviving surgery, childbirth and cancer treatments than ever before! But once we started killing germs, they started to learn how to fight back.

We are now in an era where well-known medicines are becoming less effective against bacteria, viruses and fungi, and we must find a way to protect future generations from a world where antimicrobial treatments no longer work.

Learn how resistance develops and evolves through a game of Sheep KerPlunk, read stories about antibiotics and the lives they’ve saved, and see how you can help in the global fight against antimicrobial resistance.
