Resonating Possibilities
Event schedule details
Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June
12.00–18.00
Event location details
Tech Zone
Sir Alexander Fleming Building, Imperial College London
Step inside an immersive and interactive digital art piece created by Studio Above&Below, which draws inspiration from quantum physics—the science of the very, very small.
At these tiny scales, things don’t follow the usual rules! Particles can be in two places at once, and responding to the tiniest forces, they can see time speeding up and slowing down. Scientists at Imperial College London use these strange behaviours to build groundbreaking new technologies like quantum sensors.
Studio Above&Below’s immersive artwork invites you to step inside the inner workings of a quantum sensor. Your hand movements represent the invisible forces that are recorded by its supercooled atoms. You become time, motion and gravity; as you move, patterns emerge and change, shaped by and recording your actions.
