Woman playing a steelpan in a parade

Event schedule details

Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June

12.00–18.00

Event location details

Imperial College Road

Step into the Steelpan Jam-along marquee and experience the sound and story of the Caribbean with Nostalgia, the UK’s oldest steelpan ensemble.

Drop in throughout the day to try a steelpan for yourself, with expert musicians on hand to show you how these remarkable instruments work. You can also join a workshop, where you’ll learn to play a tune together as a group. Along the way, you’ll discover the origins of the steelpan and how this uniquely Trinidadian creation became a symbol of ingenuity, identity and community for Caribbean people in London and around the world.
