Experience an immersive short film that gently introduces children and their families to the complex subject of dementia.

Created in collaboration with the UK Dementia Research Institute (DRI) at Imperial College London, the film offers an authentic, age-appropriate portrayal alongside simple, practical guidance to help young viewers communicate with greater confidence and empathy. Set in the warmth and familiarity of Grandma’s living room, the intergenerational experience encourages understanding through curiosity and connection.

Directed by Callum Pearson, the story draws from his own personal experiences with his grandparents, bringing emotional honesty and lived insight to the screen. Working closely with Dr. Danielle Kurtin, a researcher at the DRI, the creative team also conducted focus groups and meetings with communities and individuals living with dementia. These conversations enabled the co-development of Tea With Grandma, and ensured the narrative is authentic and true to the realities of Alzheimer’s.

The journey continues in a dedicated reflection space, where audiences are invited to share their thoughts and feelings about dementia. This second environment also highlights how the UK DRI at Imperial is leading pioneering research to better understand the causes of dementia and develop new treatments.

This is a ticketed event, advance booking will open shortly.
