Event schedule details

Event location details

Science Museum

Meet Dr Gbemi Oluleye and her work to reduce the 40% of the global carbon dioxide emissions contributed by our manufacturing industries.

We hear a lot about the emissions associated with how we travel and warm our homes. But what about the footprint of everything we make and buy? The global manufacturing sector, everything from fast fashion to steel and concrete production, contributes 40% of the global carbon dioxide emissions. Gbemi Oluleye from Imperial College London’s Centre for Environmental Policy wants to bring this figure down. Join her to hear more about her work investigating the barriers manufacturers face while bringing their traditional business models into the leaner, greener 21 century, and what interventions are required to make the transition cost-effective.

This is a free drop-in event with limited capacity. Places will be available on a first come, first-served basis, but please refer to the Science Museum’s website for guidance on booking tickets for general admission.
