When the theory of general relativity was written down, it was an attempt to explain why it is that an apple falls towards the Earth. But hiding within the solutions of these equations lurk monsters – regions of space time where gravity is so extreme, it’s impossible to escape them – black holes.
Join us to see simulations of what it would be like to look at a black hole and find out more about the work of Stephen Hawking. Chat with theoretical physicists who study these equations for their day-job. All you need to bring is your curiosity, and we look forward to your questions!
