Create your own uniquely scented and sustainably packaged soap bars in this workshop exploring ways to reduce the plastic in our oceans.
So much of what we buy comes in plastic packaging, materials we have seen gathering in our oceans and breaking up to threaten marine ecosystems around the world. At this workshop, join Kate Shramko (chemistry researcher and founder of beach cleaning campaign ‘One Clean Meter’) and Imperial College London experts in ocean pollution to explore approaches to going plastic free in our daily lives. This will include the creation of your own uniquely coloured and scented soap bars to take home with you.
This is an adults-only workshop.
In this workshop you combine soap base (Aqua, Glycerin, Sodium Stearate, Sorbitol, Butyrospernum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Propylene Glycol, Palm Acid, Sodium Citrate, Palm Kernel Acid, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Hydroxide Pentasodium Pentetate, Tetrasodium Etidronate) with optional fresh ingredients (lemon, coffee, lavender, honey, oat) and optional essential oils and food colouring. Please get in touch with the Festival team at [email protected] if you have any concerns or questions about the ingredients.
