Create with concrete and discover natural ways to make this amazing material from nontoxic ingredients.

The architects’ agency Cookies, in partnership with the Material Department of Imperial College and the Institut Français, will explore, during a series of workshops, the notion of concrete, and the numerous forms it can take.

Far from being only an industrial and highly polluting material, concrete can be made from natural materials, both for its aggregates (sand, rocks) and its binder (clay). Using materials found in the vicinity of Exhibition Road we want to create a local concrete, using nontoxic binders like clay, starch, paper pulp etc. that participants can mix, modify, manipulate and cast together. The workshops will be open to a wide audience, from children to adults.

Accessibility: this event has lift access.
