Join the recording of a podcast started by two Imperial PhD students that celebrates the achievements of women.
The Great Exhibition Road Festival welcomes the Elevat(Her) Podcast for a special celebration of the modern woman of medicine. The podcast, set up by two PhD students in Imperial's Faculty of Medicine, highlights achievements by women across many fields - from STEM and entrepreneurship to sports and arts - and invites them to share their experiences in overcoming some of the obstacles faced in their careers or other aspects of their lives.
For this episode, hosts Maike and Salina will welcome guests Dr Alexi Nott, Professor Sian Harding, and Dr Dimple Devadas.
About the hosts
Maike Haensel and Salina Nicoleau are two PhD Students at the National Heart and Lung Institute working on Pulmonary Hypertension. They both believe that the lack of visible female role models is a possible reason as to why fewer women are in senior positions. Through the podcast, they aim to provide practical tips and information across a variety of topics, including personal development, careers, mental and physical well-being.
There will also be drop-in spaces available.
This event will have some advance tickets released ahead of the Festival weekend.
To attend the Festival, please make sure to register for free. Registering is the only way to receive the latest Festival updates, a first-look at the full programme, and opportunities to book onto popular talks, creative workshops and tours.
