The Kevin Davy Trio in the Exploring Space Gallery

Performing at this Free Friday Music concert, taking place at the Science's Museum's Exploring Space Gallery for the very first time, will be jazz improviser, bandleader, composer and trumpeter Kevin Davy, accompanied by Ylenia Tilli on double bass and guitarist John Ade Fowler. Kevin Davy leans towards the modal approach to jazz and improvised music, citing trumpeters Hannibal Lokumbe, Lester Bowie and Nils Molvaer Pederson as influences. His composition employs strong melodic content and an urban edge with elements from Nu-jazz and harmony from blues and gospel.

Also performing this evening will be Havana-born classical guitarist Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas, playing in the Wellcome Wing. Ahmed Dickinson returns to the series having performed at many prestigious festivals and venues across the world including: Wigmore Hall, Barbican and Identidades International Guitar Festival in his native Cuba.
