Imperial College London’s Faculty of Medicine celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. After two years where medical research and hospital care have dominated the headlines, we mark this silver jubilee with a showcase of the latest in medical research.

In the zone you will be able to:

  • Enter a multimedia and interactive experience in infection research before taking a musical quest through the brain featuring footage of actual working neurons accompanied by a live harpist.
  • Learn how biological systems are being recreated on tiny chips, how AI is being trained to diagnose lesions, and how gene therapy is taking the fight to respiratory diseases.
  • Discover innovate advances in the diagnosis and treatment of malaria before entering the chemist of the future selling futuristic products such as ‘diagnostic tissues’ and ‘lung conditioner’ which are based on today’s science.
  • Learn about the drivers of breast cancer, what happens inside a clinical trial and how disease modelling is helping to combat outbreaks through informing governments and public health agencies around the world.
