Historian Karolyn Shindler will be talking with Friend of Imperial Martin Kean about her fascination with the fossil hunter Dorothea Bate. The fossil hunter marched into the National History Museum in 1898 aged 19, and demanded a job at time when no women were employed there, which was the beginning of her extraordinary career across the world in pursuit of samples.
This is part of ‘Meet the Authors’, a programme of literary discussions from Friends of Imperial College. Take a look at the other talks in this series.
