Event location details

Science Museum

We are all bathed in a sea of invisible and intangible dark matter: every second, 12 million dark matter particles stream through our hand, leaving us completely unaware. This innovative installation will take the visitor on a multisensory metaphorical voyage to experience the fundamental reality of dark matter. Inspired by the latest research into the engineering of sensations across the five senses, and informed by cutting-edge cosmological and astrophysical simulations, this pioneering collaboration between Imperial College London astrophysicists and the multisensory research team at Sussex University will translate complex physical phenomena into a tangible, surprising reality that will appeal to everybody.

This activity is most suitable for children age 7+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
