Create your own nature-inspired, sunlight-exposed prints with solar cell chemists and science communicator Liz Jeavans.

Staged in the Royal Geographic Society's iconic Grade II* listed building, this workshop will teach you a new artistic technique that harnesses the power of the Sun. Using freshly picked flowers and plants and special light sensitive paper you will create brilliant cyan-blue prints that reveal themselves when exposed to the Sun – perfect for the mantlepiece or to send as unique greetings cards. As you get creative, our solar chemists will discuss the science of harvesting and storing sunlight, and how chemistry might hold the key to solar energy powering our cars and houses - even when the sun isn’t shining.

This is an adults-only workshop.
