12.00–18.00

Event location details

Be a Scientist Zone

Flowers Building, Imperial College London

Learn more about seagrass conservation, go underwater using VR, then make nutrient balls to feed and secure UK’s seagrass meadows.

Seagrass is one of the most valuable and biodiverse habitats on the planet, providing multiple benefits to the environment and communities alike. But in the last 100 years up to 90% of seagrass beds have been lost!
Join the team from Blue Meadows project and Imperial’s Department for Life Sciences to find out more about these valuable habitats, and what is causing their decline and how you can help restore the UK’s seagrass meadows. Explore how science is helping seagrass protection and restoration then contribute your knowledge to make an impact on seagrass conservation.

This hands-on activity is part of the Be A Scientist Zone, where you can influence real research while having fun.
