The Family Stage is a relaxed space to drop in and enjoy a show outdoors!
The programme is packed with interactive performances, music and science shows especially for families. You can take part in an insect-themed game show, get creative with sound, investigate bubbles or blast off to space!
Saturday
12.30–13.00 Mission to Space with The Science Museum - Join the Science museum on a mission to discover our solar system! Learn how our ideas about space exploration changed throughout history, some of the mysteries we’ve solved and things we have yet to figure out (contains explosions: recommended for ages 5+).
13.15–13.45 The Insect Game Show - Explore themes of biodiversity and the importance of insects and their connections with plants, through games led by our bright, zany hosts Gnat & Midge! Entertaining, interactive fun for all the family, this show encourages all to learn to love, respect and care for our six-legged bug friends.
14.00–14.30 Bass in Your Face - Come and feel 1,000 watt bass buzz through your fingers! Join for a journey exploring infra to ultrasound with booming bass, flying lentils and hacked hard drives.

15.30–16.00 Speaker Box Street Party! - Come and join in with Speaker Box Street Party, a global dance community built on joy, movement and connection. They specialise in bringing people together through music and dance in public spaces, creating moments that feel open, welcoming and alive.

Sunday
12.00–12.30 Bubble Superstars - Explore bubbles with Dr Sarah Bearchell. Test different bubble shapes, colours and sizes, learn some Makaton signing and then chase some bubbles! Perfect for younger audiences and those with additional support needs.
12.45–13.15 Mission to Space with The Science Museum - Join the Science museum on a mission to discover our solar system! Learn how our ideas about space exploration changed throughout history, some of the mysteries we’ve solved and things we have yet to figure out (contains explosions: recommended for ages 5+).
13.30–14.00 Folk Dance Remixed: Ceilidh Jam! - Ceilidh Jam will get you on your feet for a unique, folky, social dance! Using traditional callers to teach, we’ll be mixing folk formations, Street Dance, legendary moves and freestyle grooves–from the Soul Train Line to Lucky 7, Strip the Willow to the Electric Slide.
14.15–14.45 Hertha Ayrton Sings: The Cambridge First All-Ladies Fire Brigade - Discover songs from a new musical about the physicist and inventor who started a fire brigade to protect her friends but ended up fighting more than fires in a battle for equality.

Visitor information
This is a drop-in event that is best suited for children age 5+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The Family Fun Zone, which is located in a garden with grass and paths, has step-free access and accessible portable toilets.
