Have Your Say

A wall hanging decorated with smaller fabric works showing slogans and messages

Event schedule details

Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 June

12.00-18.00

Event location details

Exhibition Road

Get something off your chest and add your voice to a sprawling patchwork quilt of individual truths, protest slogans and personal confessions.

Work with designer, activist and Royal College of Art master's student Sam D'Cruze to create a unique piece of crowd-sourced public art. Decorate your own textile square with a comment, protest statement or simply something you want to get off your chest and have it patch-worked together with hundreds of others to create banners of public sentiment that will be taken on procession up and down Exhibition Road.

The work draws on D’Cruze’s belief that to flourish, you must find your voice and connect with the things that mean something to you. Whether its battling climate change, fighting for LGBTQIA+ rights or protesting the cost of living crisis, D’Cruze sees finding one's voice as critical in the journey towards personal and professional growth and development. Additionally, having a clear sense of purpose and direction can help young people to navigate the challenges and obstacles they may face along the way and to stay focused and motivated even in the face of adversity. Visit D'Cruze’s marquee on Exhibition Road to find an inclusive space where everyone can ‘have their say’ and find their voice through artistic activism.
