How can we eat better for the planet? Try some delicious, healthy, affordable and sustainable food samples, collect green recipe cards or take the climate friendly food find challenge!
The food we eat – and waste – is the second biggest contributor to climate change after the energy industry. Its production contributes to one third of our greenhouse gas emissions! So what can we do? At Grantham's Climate Friendly Pop-Up Kitchen we’re serving up delicious, healthy, affordable and sustainable food samples made from plant-based and largely local, seasonal ingredients prepared by professional chefs.
Join us to get a taste of sustainability, pick up recipe cards and get some top tips for reducing the carbon footprint of your meal times. Or challenge your friends and family with the climate friendly food find – can you find which foods have a lower climate impact that others?
You can also help our students with their research including:
- Creating an index of climate friendly foods for UK consumers;
- Finding out what you think is needed to help you, your family and others to eat more sustainably such as more info on low carbon foods or food miles, clearer food labelling or inspiration on how to cook a sustainable, healthy meal.
There will also be some short pop-up talks on all sorts of food related subjects including eating well for yourself and the planet, food security, preserving foods and insects as a source of dietary protein.
This is a drop in event.
To attend the Festival, please make sure to register for free. Registering is the only way to receive the latest Festival updates, a first-look at the full programme, and opportunities to book onto popular talks, creative workshops and tours.
