About the performances
Stem to the Beat
In this workshop families can have a taste of what it’s like to work in a lab by translating each task with movements.
A-Z of Sound
Prepare to be amazed as Dan Mayfield from School of Noise and the Royal College of Music Museum take you through a fascinating interactive show about music and the science of sound.
Science Museum Greatest Hits Show
At the Science Museum, there's nothing we like better than an experiment that makes your jaw hit the floor. So we've chosen all our favourite demos and packed them into this explosive show for all ages! From rockets to 'magic' tricks, from instant ice cream to earth-shaking bangs, this is science at its most entertaining!
Caribbean Tales: V&A Family Storytelling
Storytelling sessions for families, with author and storyteller Wendy Shearer. Sessions will share Caribbean folktales, legends and historical figures from the the islands and memories from the Windrush generation.
Albert's Band
Albert’s Band is the resident Engagement ensemble at the Royal Albert Hall. They are a versatile and highly skilled group of professional musicians who are hand-picked for their passion for delivering workshops, concerts and projects, both at the Hall and in the community. Jazz for Kids concerts aim to introduce little ears to the wonderful world of jazz music through relaxed concerts for families. Each concert features carefully selected jazz repertoire presented in an informal environment where children can express themselves, with no expectation to stay still or quiet.
Japan House Illustrated Story
Based on the Japanese legend of Tanabata, this beautiful tale of friendship set amongst the stars is retold using kamishibai (Japanese paper theatre). Blending words, pictures, and music this is a unique and charming theatrical experience for children aged 4 years+ and their families. It tells the tale of Princess Weaving Star and her friend Boy, who looks after the herd of cows belonging to the Emperor of the Night Sky. The Emperor disapproves of his daughter’s friendship, but after many adventures, he relents and allows the friends to meet once a year on the Princess’s birthday.
